Occupational Therapy Implementation Research
The American Occupational Therapy Foundation is inviting applications for its Implementation Research Grants program.
Research grants are intended to support the development and evaluation of the processes used to implement, sustain, and/or scale-up evidence-based practice into routine care, with an end goal of improving the quality and effectiveness of care. Applicants may apply for one of two funding streams:
Implementation Research Pilot Study Option #1 — Grants of up to $100,000 over two years will be awarded in support of pilot studies that examine an occupational therapy-related question in implementation research.
Implementation Research Pilot Study Option #2 — Grants of up to $50,000 will be awarded in support of pilot studies that examine an occupational therapy-related question in Implementation Research.
To be eligible, applicants may not have earned substantial extramural research awards as an independent principal investigator (e.g., R01, PCORI, research program project grant, Veterans Administration Merit Award, field-initiated project); and must have commitment from an experienced research mentor who has an established record of substantial extramural grant funding, peer-reviewed publication, and supervision and mentoring of researchers. Eligible applicants are not required to be occupational therapists. However, as the goal of the grant program is to improve care in the domain of occupational therapy, the research application must have an occupational therapist(s) as a key personnel member, and he/she must be an integral part of the design and execution of the project. Postdoctoral research fellows are not eligible to apply.
Letters of Intent are due August 31. Upon review, selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal by November 30, 2020.
See the American Occupational Therapy Foundation website for complete program guidelines, application instructions, and information about previous grant recipients.
Submissions to this sponsor/donor are managed by the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations.
