The American Association for Cancer Research invites applications for the Career Development Awards in Lung Cancer Research, established to encourage and support early-career investigators to conduct lung cancer research and establish successful careers in this field. 

Grants of $250,000 over two years will be awarded to support basic, translational, clinical, or epidemiological projects with direct applicability and relevance to lung cancer. Grant funding may be used for the salary and benefits of the grant recipient and any collaborators, postdoctoral or clinical research fellows, graduate students (including tuition costs associated with graduate student's education and training), or research assistants; research/laboratory supplies; equipment; publication charges for manuscripts that pertain directly to the funded project; and other research expenses. Indirect costs are not allowable expenses.

To be eligible, applicants must have a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent) in a related field and not currently be a candidate for a further doctoral degree. At the start of the grant term on July 1, 2023, applicants must: hold a faculty position with the title of assistant professor, instructor, research assistant professor, or the equivalent; have completed their most recent doctoral degree within the past 11 years (i.e., a degree cannot have been conferred before July 1, 2012; the formal date of receipt of doctoral degree is the date the degree was conferred as indicated on their diploma and/or transcript); and have completed their most recent doctoral degree within the past 11 years.
