Applications for North American Christian Studies Sabbaticals
The Louisville Institute invites applications for its Sabbatical Grant for Researchers program, which will provide grants of up to $40,000 in support of major research and writing projects that address Christian faith and life, the practice of ministry, and/or adaptive challenges confronting religious institutions.
In addition, grantees will be invited and encouraged — though not required — to attend the Institute's annual Winter Seminar. Typically held during January (2023 dates TBD) on the campus of Louisville Presbyterian Seminary, the three-day seminar convenes grant recipients from four different institute programs to share their project plans and receive constructive feedback.
Applicants must have earned the terminal degree in their chosen vocation — typically a Master of Divinity degree for pastors and the PhD or ThD for academics — and may be based in the United States or Canada. Preference will be given to applicants who are fully employed in accredited academic institutions and eligible for a full academic year leave from teaching and administrative duties.
For complete program guidelines, application instructions, and information about previous grantees, see the Louisville Institute website.
Submissions to this sponsor/donor are managed by the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations.
