Applications for NASPGHAN Young Investigator Development Awards
The mission of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition (NASPGHAN) is to be a world leader in research, education, clinical practice, and advocacy related to pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition in health and disease.
To advance this mission, NASPGHAN invites applications for its Young Investigator Development Awards. Grants of $75,000 per year for up to two years will be awarded to junior faculty in support of research activities with the potential to lead to an independent research career in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, or nutrition. NASPGHAN welcomes applications in two categories:
NASPGHAN Foundation/NASPGHAN George Ferry Young Investigator Development Award: This grant will be awarded to support a meritorious clinical, quality improvement, translational, or basic science research project related to diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, or nutritional disorders of children.
NASPGHAN Foundation/Reckitt /Mead Johnson Nutrition Research Young Investigator Development Award: This grant, generously supported by Reckitt / Mead Johnson Nutrition, will be awarded to support a meritorious clinical, quality improvement, translational or basic science research project relating to nutrition in infancy, childhood, or adolescence.
Investigators may apply for both grants, as long as the proposed studies adhere to all criteria for each grant.
To be eligible, applicants must be a NASPGHAN members in good standing for at least two years and have, or will complete, pediatric gastroenterology, advanced fellowship training, or basic post-doctoral training within five years of the application due date for this award. Applicants must also hold a full time faculty position below the rank of associate professor in an academic institution within the United States, Mexico, or Canada and hold an MD, DO, PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree at the start of the award.
