Simons Foundation
Amount:
$42,000
External Deadline:
01/28/21
Opportunity Information:

The Simons Foundation's Mathematics and Physical Sciences division welcomes applications for the foundation’s Collaboration Grants for Mathematicians.

The goal of the program is to substantially increase collaborative contacts between accomplished, active mathematicians in the United States who do not otherwise have access to funding that could provide support for travel and visitors. All areas of mathematics, including statistics, are eligible as long as the applicant has a full-time tenure-track or tenured appointment in a mathematics department with a PhD degree granting program.

Grants awarded through the program provide $8,400 a year for up to five years; $6,000 a year for collaboration, travel, and research; $1,000 a year in discretionary funds for the awardee’s department; and 20 percent ($1,400) per year in indirect costs.

To be eligible, applicants must have a PhD degree and hold a tenure-track or tenured position with a full-time appointment in a mathematics department with a PhD-degree-granting program at an institution in the United States.

See the Simons Foundation website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
