The Institute for Future Health (IFH), a collaboration between Arizona State University and University of Arizona, presents a collaborative event focused on systemic amyloid, a rapidly emerging topic that intersects with cardiovascular and neurologic (Alzheimer's) conditions, aging, and multispecialty care. This complex issue requires new models of diagnosis, disease staging and therapy. The complex underlying molecular biology and multi-organ effects does not fit within traditional hospital departments, requiring integration of specialty expertise as cardiology, imaging, pathology, neurology, gastroenterology, interventional cardiology, and genetics.
The meeting brings together leading experts in their respective fields for an in-depth discussion on the challenge of proactive screening and detection of Cardiac Amyloidosis.
The debate will center around the question: 'Should Primary Care Clinicians Screen for Cardiac Amyloidosis?'
This one-hour event will offer valuable insights into the challenges posed by cardiac amyloidosis diagnosis and increased awareness of this important underdiagnosed condition.
Thursday, August 17
ASU Health Futures Center, Phoenix
