Opportunity Kick-off: ASU DARPA Young Faculty Award (YFA) Info Session
Are you an early career faculty member curious about Department of Defense (DoD) funding? Or are you research support and development staff hunting for funding opportunities to share with your faculty? Join this informational session and learn about the exciting and prestigious Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Young Faculty Awards (YFA). Representatives from Global Security Initiative (GSI)—ASU’s hub for interdisciplinary security research and primary interface with the defense, intelligence and homeland security communities—will provide attendees with an overview of the sponsor and YFA program, as well as offer tips for a successful submission.
The DARPA YFA 2021 program identifies rising stars in junior research positions, emphasizing those without prior DARPA funding, and exposes them to DoD needs and DARPA’s program development process. YFA provides high-impact funding to elite researchers early in their careers to develop innovative new research directions in the context of enabling transformative DoD capabilities. The long-term goal of the program is to develop the next generation of scientists and engineers in the research community who will focus a significant portion of their future careers on DoD and National Security issues.
