Topic: 2022 Early Career Programs Kick-Off

Research Development Opportunity Kick-off events are introductions to specific funding opportunities that provide an overview of requirements, advice and lessons learned from experienced faculty, and a chance to network with other ASU faculty.

Sponsored by KE Research Development

Many funding organizations have specialized programs that target early career researchers. These programs give early career faculty a “leg up” in the extremely fierce competition for funding. However, many organizations define early investigator differently. The programs can also be specific topic-driven opportunities or extremely wide ranging.

If you are tenure track faculty member within the first several years of your PhD and/or first appointment, please attend this event to learn the ins and outs of individual agencies.

Presenters will review the most popular programs by agency, contextualize the competition, describe an optimum timeline for submission, and provide resources that will help you to prepare a proposal.

Each presenter will host a breakout session with select previous awardees that will allow for small group discussion with those who have successfully navigated the process. This small group session may not be recorded.
