Research Development Opportunity Kick-off events are introductions to specific funding opportunities that provide an overview of requirements, advice and lessons learned from experienced faculty, and a chance to network with other ASU faculty.
Topic: FY24 Sustainable Regional Systems Research Network (SRS RNs)
The Sustainable Regional Systems Research Networks (SRS RNs) are connected urban and rural systems that are transforming their structures and processes collaboratively to measurably and equitably advance the well-being of people and the planet. With the SRS RNs, NSF is looking to fund convergent research and education to advance sustainable regional systems science, engineering, and education to facilitate the transformation of current regional systems. The purpose is to develop and support interdisciplinary, multi-organizational teams, that produce cutting-edge research, education and outreach to address the challenges of sustainable regional systems. This solicitation will fund proposals for up to $15 million over a 5 – year duration.
The program Goals include:
· “advance SRS science, engineering, and education” at a regional scale while building more sustainable systems.
· “produce new data, methods, and models”
· “understand interactions between natural, human-built, and social systems”
· “work collaboratively to produce cutting-edge convergent research, education, and outreach”
· “address grand challenges in SRS”
· Must address issues that are large enough to require multiple organizations
