FY24 NSF Synthesis Center for Understanding Organismal Resilience (Opportunity Kick-off)
Research Development Opportunity Kick-off events are introductions to specific funding opportunities or resources that enhance application competitiveness. Sponsored by KE Research Development.
The NSF Synthesis Centers supports the establishment of new centers focused on organismal resilience and plasticity and aims to train a new generation of researchers in data-intensive, open, and collaborative science. Synthesis Centers are a mechanism used by NSF to catalyze new discoveries and understanding by leveraging existing data.
Objectives of Synthesis Centers:
- Promote Synthesis research across individual organismal systems, biological subdisciplines, and targets of inquiry to deeper understanding of organismal resilience
- Develop necessary resources to enable data management
- Enhance access to existing infrastructure
- Build an effective and evidence-based training enterprise for next generation of scientists
- Integrate efforts to broaden participation in all activities
Preliminary Proposal Due: January 12, 2024
Full Proposal Due (invitation only): July 15, 2024
