External Event: GUIRR Webinar: A Model for Place-Based Innovation: RTI's Forethought Research Collaboration Challenge, Event Date: 8/17/2021
Join the Government-University-Industry Research Roundtable (GUIRR) for a webinar on August 17, 2021 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. ET to discuss a novel innovation competition designed to inform the next era of strategic, place-based innovation across the country. Forethought: The RTI $5M+ Research Collaboration Challenge draws on and contributes to the distinct intellectual and institutional resources and cultures of the Research Triangle region of North Carolina. It adds to the region's history of investments in innovation-led economic development by supporting projects that require regional collaboration to advance solutions to pressing scientific, technical, and societal challenges. The Forethought challenge is the latest and most tangible example of what RTI and area universities have done to catalyze collaboration and innovation.
During this webinar, Dr. Jacqueline Olich, Vice President, University Collaborations, RTI International; Dr. Wayne Holden, President and CEO, RTI International; and Dr. Christy Shaffer, Chair of RTI's University Research Collaboration Committee and member of the RTI Board of Governors, will discuss how the Forethought challenge builds on the Research Triangle legacy to bring new investment to the G-U-I interface and drive regional economic development and transformation.
