CIWG: Using CI to Understand Sponsors
The Competitive Intelligence (CI) Working Group meets to discuss best practices, share useful resources, and create a network of academic professionals who are engaged in competitive intelligence and are seeking to define how CI is performed and is perceived in our environment. This group connects colleagues from universities across the country to expand our understanding of how research development professionals are using CI and to share common issues and interests.
Anyone who is interested in learning more about this growing area in research development may attend. Everyone is encouraged to share their experiences. Each meeting will have a different topic. Speakers are primarily from academia, but occasionally we will bring in guest speakers from industry. All sessions are virtual and held on Zoom.
Using CI to Understand Sponsors
This initial meeting for the 2022/2023 session will look at best practices for employing competitive intelligence techniques to understand what sponsors are funding, to research funding programs to help faculty craft more competitive proposals, and to develop strategies for pursuing funding long-term. Please join Keith Aspinall and Catherine Chen of ASU’s Strategic Intelligence team on September 28th at 11 am Pacific / 2 pm Eastern for this foundational CI presentation.
