Carnegie Elective Classification for Community Engagement

The Carnegie Elective Classification for Community Engagement seeks to recognize institutions that demonstrate commitment and excellence in community engagement. As such, it requires a large body of evidence of meaningful and sustained institutional investment of systems and structures that support individuals, groups and communities to work with each other for mutual benefit and in a context of reciprocal partnership. ASU will submit our reclassification documentation framework in late 2024/early 2025, and you’re invited to share your story of community engagement:

  • Resources, professional development, support services for faculty, staff and/or students who seek to develop/deepen community engaged approaches and methods
  • Faculty, staff and student scholarship; university-community partnerships and outcomes/outputs
  • Community-engaged coursework
  • Co-curricular community engagement activities

If you’d like your community engagement story to be considered for ASU’s submission and/or would like to contribute in other ways to the submission, please reach out to Christina.Ngo@asu.edu.
