The AAAS Rapid Response AI Cohort application is now open! Applications will be accepted until May 1.

STPF has the ability to immediately contribute AI-relevant expertise to Congress via a unique cohort of fellows who are expert in artificial intelligence. Deliberation and decision-making on this powerful new technology demands expertise now. This cohort will be at the ready as embedded staff members in Congress’ personal and committee offices to provide knowledge, experience and guidance in support of smart policies starting this September. 

The subject matter area expertise sought includes but is not limited to: AI and generative technologies; computer science and engineering; information technology; data science; mathematics; statistics; robotics; machine learning; health technology; psychology and human factors; economics; and, political science. Candidates may come from a range of career stages, degree levels, and experience (PhD, MS/ME/M.Eng+3 years, BS+5 years). Applicants who are new to STPF, as well as STPF alumni and current fellows who are not already committed to a 2024-2025 placement, are eligible. While government experience is not required, previous engagement with political, social and regulatory challenges is particularly welcome.
