Applications for Massage Therapy Research
The Massage Therapy Foundation invites applications for its MTF Research Support Grant program, which will award small grants of up to $30,000 and large grants from $30,000 to $300,000 in support of high-quality, independent research that contributes significantly and directly to the knowledge of massage therapy and/or its application. Basic, applied, and translational research studies investigating massage therapy as wellness, medical, or health/mental health treatment and/or prevention intervention are supported. Awarded funds must be used for research expenses such as salary support (commensurate with current stipends or salaries), participant costs, equipment and supplies, dissemination expenses, travel, and subsistence toward attending the American Massage Therapy Association convention to present project results (required).
Applicants must be associated with or have secured the cooperation of a university, independent research organization, health center, or other institution (the “sponsoring organization”). In addition, a sponsoring organization must have sufficient facilities and human and informational and Institutional Review Board resources available to support the proposed research project and perform the proposed work and expected outcomes. Applicants outside the U.S. are eligible to apply; however, the institution must accept payment of award funds in U.S. dollars.
For complete program guidelines and application instructions, see the Massage Therapy Foundation website.
Submissions to this sponsor/donor are managed by the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations.
