Opportunity Information:

The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (Lifeline), funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and administered by Vibrant Emotional Health, will be releasing an RFA entitled Evaluation of a Network-wide Training Initiative to Increase Crisis Counselor Self-efficacy, Knowledge, and Skill in Lifeline Suicide Safety Assessment and Intervention. This evaluation will assess the efficacy of the Lifeline’s new, online, self-paced training courses and related materials to increase crisis counselor self-efficacy, knowledge, and skill with regards to provision of Lifeline Safety Assessment and intervention. The evaluation will assess the impact of the trainings in the short-term (post-training) and long-term (a follow-up time period to be determined), and uncover ways in which the training may be improved to continue to enhance the standards, training, and practices of the nation’s largest network of crisis centers in assisting individuals in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. There will be one award made for a two-year project, with expected funding up to $625,000 per year. Application portal will open 12/30/22, with a due date of 2/20/23.
