Applications for scholarly art book projects

Sponsors:
College Art Association
External Deadline:
03/15/23
Opportunity Information:

The College Art Association invites applications to its Millard Meiss Publication Fund, which supports book-length scholarly manuscripts in the history of art, visual studies, and related subjects that have been accepted by a publisher on their merits but cannot be published in the most desirable form without a subsidy. All periods and areas of art history and visual studies will be considered. Applications that propose enhancing the visual component of the study through the inclusion of color plates or an expanded component of black-and-white illustrations are of particular interest to the fund.

Commercial, university, and museum publishers from any country are encouraged to apply. However, applicant authors must be individual CAA members, and presses must be institutional CAA members. Self-published manuscripts are not eligible for a grant.

For complete program guidelines, application instructions, and a list of previously supported publications, see the College Art Association website.
