DOD MURI Opportunity Kick-Off
Kick-off: 2020 DoD Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative (MURI)
Research Development Kick-Off Events are to share with faculty and staff upcoming funding opportunities and to highlight key details to know.
Sponsored by OKED Research Development.
The Department of Defense (DoD) Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative (MURI) Program supports basic research in science and engineering at US institutions of higher education that is of potential interest to DoD. The program is focused on multidisciplinary research efforts where more than one traditional discipline interacts to provide rapid advances in scientific areas of interest to the DoD.
The MURI program is sponsored by the DoD branch research offices: the Army Research Office (ARO); the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR); and the Office of Naval Research (ONR). Jointly, these offices release one MURI Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) listing the topic areas of interest for each branch.
Over the past few years, ASU has dramatically increased submissions to this program as both prime and subcontract. The panelists for this event bring their experience in both roles, as well as experience overall with DOD programs.
Note: the solicitation is expected to be available in late March/early April 2020.
