The Transforming Women’s Leadership Pathways program is an initiative of the PLuS Alliance (Arizona State University, King’s College London and UNSW Sydney) and is a foundational event in our joint work towards gender equity in leadership. This program brings together and builds on the inspiring work that has come before it.

The program began with our pioneering digital event in October 2020, which brought together over 100 opinion-shaping contributors to examine the evidence on the critical factors that limit women’s pathways to senior leadership in their fields. The outcome was 10 action plans that articulate the practical actions Government, Universities and Industry must take to close the leadership gender gap.

NEW PROJECT GROUPS

As we move forward and look to implement the action plan recommendations with our limited resources, we will be shifting away from the siloed sector-specific Working Groups (The Arts, Corporate, Engineering etc), and will be developing six new Project Groups, each dedicated to one of the six recommendation themes that were addressed in each action plan.

THE SIX PROJECT GROUPS

  • Recruitment & Retention
  • Increasing Visibility
  • Increasing the Pipeline
  • Training & Mentoring
  • Tracking & Publishing date/specific goals
  • Public & Organizational commitment to gender equity

HOW WILL THEY WORK?

These Project Groups will be self-organizing and will act as project teams, responsible for determining their direction, scope and recommendations to progress. Project Groups will be able to determine how often they join together, and their plan of attack. We hope that these Project Groups will be collaborative and diverse, with representation from each of the PLuS Universities. Please refer to the Project Group ToR for more information.

Funding will be available directly to Project Groups, to help you implement recommendations and ideas. Once we have Project Groups set up, each group will have a meeting with the TWLP Program team to get started
